Your comment inspired me to revisit some of Niven's television appearances, and I have to admit, I noticed that nervousness. Yet his devastating wit and exceptional storytelling skills have kept me glued to YouTube for the past 90 minutes! I'm supposed to be working!
For my research on MGM's 1949 film Battleground, I had a difficult time digging up any real solid info on Nick Schenk and the Dore Schary vs. Louis B. Mayer feud. Most of my information came from Schary's autobiography and biographies of WIlliam Wellman, Van Johnson, and Mayer. I wish I had this book!
Terrific post. Watching Niven on 70s chat shows, it strikes me how nervous he is... there's far more to Niven than meets the eye...

The Schencks are often portrayed as antagonistic figures in other Hollywood biographies, but "Moguls" likely will make them more multi-dimensional.
